Daughter of celebrated Danish sculptor Helen Schou and Holger Hiriis Schou, Eva Pontoppidan was educated at the Royal Danish Academy of Fine Arts and specialised in painting. She produced a number of paintings throughout her career as an artist, from portraits and still life works in oil, to work on paper in watercolour.
