It was manufactured by McCord Corp. of Detroit, Michigan and exhibits a very faint lot number of "M 192A", approximately dating its production from 1951 to 1953. The helmet retains its original olive drab factory finish, texture, and OD#7 (green) chinstraps with green painted steel hardware. These corner shelves are just what I wanted to hold our modem and router on one and a small lamp on the upper. The little ledge makes me feel confident that the devices won't easily be knocked off accidentally. My husband, a retired contractor, installed them so they are level. They are made of pressed board with a laminate veneer of some sort. The laminate arrived damaged on one of the shelves, but I wanted to use two of them right away so a dab of paint will cover the damage if it's placed in an inconspicuous spot.
