This same compact appears in the Dec. 17 1940 edition of Look magazine. (Magazine and pin NOT included, shown for reference only.) It is in AS IS condition, the latch is broken and it doesn't stay closed. It does have some chipped paint and general wear. Bundles for Britain was started in 1940 by Natalie
